Alumnae News
Alexandra Pratt Sorenson '07 reports that
2015 was a big year for her. She graduated
from the University of Iowa Law School in
May; married Christopher Sorenson, a fellow
law student, in August; and she started as an
associate attorney at Shook, Hardy & Bacon
in Kansas City in September. "I'm so happy
to be back in the KC area!" Alexandra and

Did you know that when you become an alumna of Sigma Kappa, you became a lifetime
member of the national organization and Xi Chapter? Xi Corporation Board represents all of our Xi
alumnae by maintaining and operating the Lawrence chapter house. Our actives are charged for all
operating costs, including mortgage payments, meals, employee wages, property and wage taxes,
utilities, insurance, maintenance, and general improvements. As of July 31, Xi Chapter's loan balance
for the renovation in the summer of 2014 was $1,336,918. This includes our monthly payments from
operating income totaling $50,054, plus $11,439 from capital campaign gifts. We also encourage you
to be mindful of paying your $20 membership dues each year to the corporation; we can use the dues
for future improvements.
