Changes Abound at
Kappa Alpha Chapter
T
he 2016 spring and summer months have kept the
Kappa Alpha House Corporation Board on its toes! The
biggest item we dealt with last spring was the resignation of
our long time house director, Kathi Mayfield. Kathi decided
that she needed to be closer to her children and grandchildren
and has moved to Lawrence; she is now the house director
for a sorority at KU. Kathi was with us for 10 years and
was truly a gem. She did so much for the board, but most
importantly, she loved and watched over every member of
Chi Omega at KSU as they came and went during those 10
years. She will be greatly missed by both the active members
and the House Corporation Board.
KAPPA ALPHA WELCOMES
NEW HOUSE DIRECTOR
We do feel that we have an excellent replacement in
Janice Tidball. Janice has experience as both a fraternity
and sorority house director here at KSU and came highly
recommended. She jumped right in and helped with getting
things repaired, overseeing the move-in, and dealing with
the daily issues that come with a house full of 65 college
women. We welcome Jan to the Kappa Alpha family!
CHAPTER HIRES NEW
FOOD SERVICE COMPANY
Another challenge that arose last spring was the need to find
a new food service company. We now have Greek House
Chefs on board, and we've heard lots of good things about
the food and our two chefs. Now, if we can just figure out
how to keep the Wi-Fi up and running in our 1965 brick
fortress, we'll be all set!
