Molly Cunningham '95 Shows Her Tri Delta Pride at the National Level I t should come as no surprise that Molly Cunningham '95 is the new VP of Development for the Tri Delta Foundation. She exudes pride in her chapter, her alumnae sisters, and the future of the organization. Molly has served as lifetime membership advisor for the Theta Omega Chapter at KU, and is a strong proponent for alumnae to seek out volunteer and leadership opportunities with local chapters. It's obvious that the next step in her journey with Tri Delta is to work her magic at the national level. As VP of development, Molly works with the Foundation staff and Board of Trustees to set fundraising strategy while helping to oversee the process. She is also the major gift officer, coordinating and partnering with the Board of Trustees and other volunteers to implement the strategies set forth. "I feel extremely confident with the team we have in place," Molly said. "Our volunteers are dynamic, accomplished women, and we have a deep bench of great staff and volunteers excited to implement strategy to raise dollars to benefit our members. In fundraising you have to believe in the mission, which is why our focus is on fundraising for scholarships, emergency assistance, and leadership programming to support our fellow sisters." Theta Omega had a huge influence on Molly during college. Growing up in a small town where everybody knew everybody, she intentionally chose to attend KU because she wanted a fresh start. "My sisters helped me acclimate to campus life and introduced me to activities that led to my future career path. If you look at my trajectory, it's been all over the board. I started in retail management at Pier One and now I'm VP of development. In each instance, though, I've jumped in with both feet willing to learn and absorb as much information as I could." Molly has high hopes for the future of Tri Delta, especially her chapter at KU. Both collegiate members and alumnae have the responsibility to grow the chapter and continue its success. "I hope that our collegiate members continue to focus efforts on recruiting members that are reflective of the entire student body at KU; well-rounded, determined women. I also hope that our alumnae take more of an active role in mentoring and supporting our collegiate members to be strong leaders in our communities, and that our collegiate members, through alumnae, see membership as lifelong. It's so much bigger than just what we do in college. There are more opportunities for alumnae to get involved today than before. I do it because it's worthwhile and to give back for all I've been given through membership in Tri Delta." Molly is relocating to Henderson, Nevada, to be closer to her boyfriend, Michael. She loves to cook, see live concerts or theater performances, spend time with her dog, Mr. Banks, watch movies, and travel. You can contact her at moljc77@gmail.com.
