TRI DELTA DISPATCH FULL CALENDAR THIS FALL Looking forward, the fall season will be very busy, but very fun! We have our new member retreat, Sincerely Yours letter writing event, and the St. Jude walk quickly approaching. Initiation will occur on October 5 and we will host a tea at the house on October 15 for our alumnae members. Please e-mail me if you would like to come because we'd love to have you. Later in October, we will participate in Homecoming and are partnered with the men of Phi Delta Theta and Theta Chi. Theta Omega is also planning another visit to St. Jude and Tri Delta Place, and is excited to start work on our new Rock Chalk Revue show with Phi Kappa Psi. Our goals for this semester are to continue academic improvements, raise $45,000 for St. Jude, and to make Tri Delta's national Body Image 3D program more prominent on campus. We have a lot in store this fall, but will have a blast doing it! This scholarship is given to a junior status member with a minimum 2.9 GPA and financial need, and requires submission of an essay on what Delta Delta Delta has meant to the individual. The award went to Aleah Seemann '15 from Kensington, Kansas, a small agricultural community, who is seeking a Bachelor of Arts degree in the College of Liberal Arts and Science. The Barbara Lawrence Leadership Scholarship of $500 is awarded to a member who is active in campus and community activities with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarship was given to Alyssa Hemphill '14 from Olathe, Kansas, who is seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. Alyssa has served as both vice president of finance and president of Theta Omega, and has been a weekly Boys and Girls Club volunteer. The Dr. Cora Downs Scholarship of $500 is presented to member who has demonstrated outstanding service and/or leadership in Theta Omega with a minimum 3.0 GPA. As many of you might remember, Dr. Downs, an outstanding internationally recognized microbiologist and professor at the University of Kansas, was the first initiate of Theta Omega. Her pin is framed and hangs in the chapter living room. This year's recipient is Brooke Ottley '14 from Oakley, Kansas. One of her major accomplishments was the development of a new academic policy. The Pat Domann Most Exemplary Member Scholarship of $500 is given to a member who most demonstrates the true spirit of Delta Delta Delta by exemplifying devotion to and compassion for the welfare of her sorority sisters, as well as the welfare of others around her. Current chapter members make nominations for this award by submitting a letter of recommendation explaining why the individual is deserving. This year's recipient is Lilah Wilder '15 from Overland Park, Kansas. She is double majoring in global and international studies and French. Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients!
