Chamber & Tourism hosts Networking Breakfast Sept. 22 DesertMessengerNews Generating Solutions for Rural Development: How to Leverage Your Business for the Holiday Season Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 10 AM Looking beyond the Rural Policy Forum, members of Arizona Rural Development Council (AZRDC) want to continue the conversation on issues commonly faced within rural development. Spurring from this idea came the initiation of a webinar series specifically address- ing these outcomes. "Generating Solutions for Rural Development is a webinar series that will address a number of topics pertaining to development issues, specifically in the context of rural communities. Topics will rotate on a monthly ba- sis with new speakers, examples, and ideas coming from all corners of the state. Interning rural program coordina- tor, Maya Azzi, will be facilitating these webinar presentations. Maya is new to the team; however, she comes from a background of work- ing with rural communities, spe- cifically with a focus on community development, sustainable tourism development, and natural resource management. The topic this month will be on how to leverage your business during the holiday season. The initial we- binar will be a previously recorded session done by President and Co- Founder of Ideas Collide and a live session with Local First Arizona's Community Development Coordi- nator, Kendall Crever. This webi- nar will address the intense battle for consumers' attention during the fast approaching holiday season. In this upcoming webinar, you'll learn actionable tips and insights to help you make marketing magic during the crowded and fierce holi- day shopping landscape. Attendees will learn: ▪ How to tell an engaging story about "buying local" during the holidays ▪ Tips to encourage customers to purchase in-store vs. online ▪ Why the holiday season can also be a golden opportunity for service providers, not just retailers ▪ The pros & cons of holiday market- ing in various channels from print to radio to direct mail The webinar is FREE to attend, however, you must register because space is limited and it is on a first come first serve. Be sure to register soon and make sure you take good notes because there will be approxi- mately half and hour for Q&A at the end of the webinar presentations.
