Delta Delta Delta page 3 THANK YOU, ANNUAL DONORS W e are truly grateful for the following alumnae who made a gift to our spring 2016 appeal. The successes achieved by Delta Mu are directly attributed to the loyal support from you and your sisters. Your gifts allow us to provide an environment where our undergraduates can prepare for excellence in their lives after college while gaining friendships that will last a lifetime. Delta Mu Welcomes 138 Amazing Women to Our Sisterhood D elta Mu's fall semester got off to an exciting start with recruitment, adding 138 new members to our sisterhood. These women are from all across America and we cannot wait to see the amazing impact they will have on all aspects of campus life. This outstanding class includes 20 legacies (10 of whom have sisters currently in the Chapter), 39 with a 30 or above ACT score, 45 with a 4.0 GPA or higher, Presidential scholars, National Merit scholars, Homecoming queens, prom princesses, class officers, SGA members and officers, team captains, and state athletic champions, including alpine skiing and surfing (certainly a first for Delta Mu!). Additionally, in this group are artists, environmentalists, Youth in Government participants, vocalists, and one new member even has her own clothing line. We have several who already volunteer for St. Jude, so they will be ready to help out with our philanthropic efforts. We are very proud of this diverse group of outstanding women and the impact we know they will have on our campus. After Bid Day, we jumped into the semester with a new philanthropy event, Cirque Du St. Jude. This event was hosted at Phi Delta Theta with tons of activities to go with the carnival theme. This summer at Convention, we were very pleased to learn that Delta Mu raised more than $250,000 for St. Jude's Research Hospital this year. We are excited to continue our fundraising goals with our fall events, including our annual letter writing and Game Day Giveback, which will be on November 12. We look forward to our new academic program, which will include study sessions every other Sunday. Tri Delta continued to grow academically last spring with a 3.51 Chapter GPA, placing us third out of the 18 sororities on campus. It is such an exciting time to be a Delta Mu at the University of Alabama as we continue to grow in all areas of our organization. We are very proud of our accomplishments last spring and look forward to what will come this fall. We want to thank our amazing alumnae for their continued support. We hope to see all of you this fall! Roll Tide and Delta Love, Busy Hopper '13 Chapter President knhopper@crimson.ua.edu IN MEMORIAM Sarah Burks Hoover '38 passed away on August 4.
