90 YEARS OF BEING TRUE TO THE
WOMANHOOD OF LOVE
I
magine the excitement on June 7, 1926, when Alpha
Delta Chapter of Phi Mu sorority was set into place.
I am sure it was a day filled with dreams of sisterhood
and purpose of fellowship. I hope now, 90 years later,
we are perpetuating that original vision. Alpha Delta
has become a well-rounded and integral part of not only
the University of Mississippi, but of past, present, and
future sisters' lives.
As pledge class numbers climb, it is more difficult to
instill in our members what sisterhood really means.
Many of you may know that our skit party has been
redefined as the sisterhood round for this and future
recruitments. It will give our sisters the opportunity to
share with potential new members what being an active
member really means.
Not only is Alpha Delta celebrating an anniversary,
but the Chapter House we have all come to know has
reached a milestone as well—50 years! We actually
have a picture, hanging in our library, of the new house
and members taken in the fall of 1966. We have seen
so many changes take place over 90 years within our
Alpha Delta Chapter and 50 years within our Chapter's
home. In keeping with our Creed, let us keep our
members in our hearts and prayers as they carry out
the sisterhood, which is the bond that binds us one to
another.
To practice day by day love, honor, truth.
Thus keeping true to the meaning, spirit and
reality of Phi Mu.
