3 GAMMA PSI OF BETA THETA PI "As alumni, we have as much or more to learn from our undergraduates as they have to learn from us. The more we feel connected to our chapter, the more willing we are to give our time and finances to help our chapter flourish. Take time to give back to the place that gave you so much; you'll be glad you did." - John Dobben '58 Chapter OffiCers President Quinlan Wetzel '18 Powell, Wyo. Vice President of Programming Mitchell Murray '18 Whitmore Lake, Mich. G amma Psi has been back on campus for six years. Early on, there was a lot of growth as the chapter reached new milestones, and we officially received our charter at the 175th convention in 2014. After rechartering, there is a tendency to relax, quit striving to improve, and let the chapter lapse on several fronts. Gamma Psi has done just the opposite. We continue to recruit excellent men, with 15 new pledges last spring, our largest spring pledge class since recolonizing. We also continue to demonstrate academic excellence by boasting a 3.27 GPA, which is the highest on campus and well above the all-men's average of 3.04. The improvement of Gamma Psi can really be seen in our chapter's attitude. This semester, we've seen an upturn in ritual after the generous donation of a new Loving Cup for the Beta Tau Alumni Corporation. We hired a chef to cater a weekly chapter dinner before our Sunday meetings as a weekly brotherhood event. The chapter loves coming together and sharing a meal, which allows us to connect more casually than in a meeting. We've also implemented a required number of service hours for each brother, and we are spending time in the community, building relationships, and changing the stigma associated with Greek fraternity men. Our main goal for the semester has been planning and executing a large-scale philanthropic event to give back to the veterans who protect and serve our country. We've also been focused on growth. Our executive board met with our alumni board to discuss the renovation of our chapter house to accommodate more brothers in our chapter room. As we continue to grow in numbers, we manage to uphold the highest level of quality in our brothers. Gamma Psi is thriving and we are always doing incredible things to represent our chapter in a positive light. Go green, go white, go Beta.
