We have an exciting Homecoming this fall that continues to generate a lot of good Beta feelings. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 Connect with brothers old and new at the 7th annual MSU Beta Homecoming Tailgate before the Spartans take on Northwestern. The tailgate will be sponsored by the BTAC and will be held at the usual location in the back of the Jenison Field House parking lot. Look for the Beta Flag! Actives, alumni, family, and friends are invited. We invite you to play a part in this growing tradition. Make plans with a brother to attend! Our Mystic shrine Louis E. Legg Jr. '50 entered Our Mystic Shrine on August 4, 2015, at the age of 87. He was a prominent Lansing businessman and community leader, and his tremendous involvement in the community earned him the Man of the Year award. He proudly served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve and was an Excalibur member. Louis was also very active in the Republican Party and served as a delegate at the 1964 National Republican Convention. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Louis III and Thomas; and grandchildren, Matt and Jon. William S. "Bill" Johnson '55 entered Our Mystic Shrine as a resident of Santa Fe, N.M. After graduating from MSU, Bill served in the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, Va., and later enjoyed a 32-year career with IBM. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan appointed Bill chairman of the Institute of American Indian Arts, where he was instrumental in securing and renovating the old post office building now used as the museum. He also negotiated the donation of land where today's IAIA campus is located. Bill served on a number of boards nationwide, including Mary Baldwin College in Virginia, Columbia College in Chicago, the YMCA of Washington, D.C., and Paralyzed Veterans of America. In addition, he was chairman of the Academy of Human Resources in Santa Fe. He is survived by his wife, Luanna; brother, Stanley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joseph J. Czarnik '70 entered Our Mystic Shrine as a resident of Royal Oak, Mich. He cherished the memories and friendships he gained in Gamma Psi, and was a valuable asset to the chapter over the years. Joe will be missed dearly by his fraternity brothers. Michael Bowers '15 entered Our Mystic Shrine on March 28 at the age of 24. He was employed by Crop Production Services in Finley, Ohio, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Sandusky. Mike loved football, having played in high school, and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his parents, Dale and Betsy: sister, Chealse; and several aunts and uncles.
