Nu Chapter of Chi Omega 3 Our needs and OPPOrtunities W hile the Nu Chapter experience is certainly more than the physical structure of the chapter house, our home undoubtedly plays a significant role in the development of our sisters and as a proud symbol of our shared values and goals. Built in 1905, 115 Langdon Street has been a part of Nu's legacy for over 100 years and is showing its age. It has become clear that we must make a major investment in our chapter house if we are to remain competitive, provide a quality living environment, and commit to our founding purposes: Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship, Career Development, Participation in Campus Activities, and Community Service. PURSUING EXCELLENCE The University of Wisconsin-Madison is as academically challenging as ever and the need for an enhanced, quiet, well-lit, and comfortable study space within our facility is necessary for our members to achieve. We have all seen the impact of technology over the years, as devices not present during your college years are now necessities, including personal computers, high-speed internet access, e-mail, and more. Our plan will ensure that Nu excels academically and remains scholastic leaders on campus and within the Greek system. SETTING OURSELVES APART While Chi Omega continues to attract many of the top women at Madison, we know that we are losing quality potential members to other sororities that have renovated or have planned renovations. Recently, Delta Gamma, Alpha Chi Omega, and Kappa Kappa Gamma at Madison have responded to their aging facilities and upgraded their homes with phased project plans. We must also compete with the amenities offered in newly renovated on-campus residence halls and off-campus apartments. Our plan ensures that we are appealing to today's college students and keeps our home competitive with other sororities that have completed or are considering similar projects. KEEPING OUR SISTERS SAFE The safety of our collegiate members is of utmost importance to the Nu Chapter House Association; we must offer a structurally sound and safe home for our collegians. Installing an air-conditioning system throughout the chapter house and complying with ADA codes will ensure a safe environment for our current and future sisters. Much like our personal homes, our chapter house must be a safe haven that instills confidence in our members and their parents.
