But with the Pro Bowl sched- uled there in late January, the Dolphins moved this one from South Florida to the central part of the Sunshine State and the newly renovated Camping World Stadium. The City of Orlando and Or- ange County put $207 million into updating the aging stadium in hopes of being able to lure NFL action back to Orlando. It's the first time since 1997 the NFL has played a preseason game in Orlando. "It's a very strong tie to the Pro Bowl," said Peter O'Reilly, the NFL's senior vice president of events. "It provides us an op- portunity to test the game pre- sentation, the game operations and the stadium operations in the tremendously renovated Camping World Stadium." Moving the game from Mi- ami allows the Dolphins another week to prepare their stadium, which is in the final phase of a $500 million renovation that in- cludes a canopy. The first game there will now be the preseason finale Sept. 1. The Falcons' substitution plan may not follow the usual flow for the third week of pre- seasons, which are considered the most important for starters. By Cam Inman Bay Area News Group SANTA CLARA Colin Kaeper- nick says he "most definitely" has a chance to win back his job as the San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback. Coach Chip Kelly hasn't pub- licly indicated otherwise, even though Kaepernick missed the first two exhibitions and over a week of practice with a sore shoulder. "I'm going to go out and show everything I can these next two games," Kaepernick said Wednesday, adding that he will "make sure I put my best foot forward to show this organiza- tion, this team, this coaching staff, what I'm capable of." Kaepernick's return to prac- tice this week has him poised to play in Friday's home exhibi- tion against the Green Bay Pack- ers. Kelly said he'll wait for the medical staff's recommenda- tions before deciding how much he'll play Kaepernick, or if he'll start Blaine Gabbert for a third straight game. Kaepernick and Gabbert have split first-team reps in practice this week, just as they did for nine practices before Kaeper- nick's throwing arm got cranky. "It's great to be back out there, great to be back practic- ing with my teammates and get- ting ready for this next game," Kaepernick said. "Everything's been going great, everything's been going as planned, so ex- cited to get out there this Fri- day." Kaepernick didn't seem ex- cited to talk about his rela- tionship with general manager Trent Baalke, who said last week the two recently sat down for the first time since last season and had a "good conversation." "We had a conversation," Kae- pernick said, adding: "We have a business relationship. That's the point that we're at." Kaepernick sought a trade earlier this year amid his fric- tion with the front office. His $11.9 million base salary is guar- anteed this season, and it's $10 million more than Gabbert will earn in the final year of his re- spective contract. While Kaepernick's health limited his offseason participa- tion and interrupted the train- ing-camp competition, Gabbert has had more opportunities to showcase his first-string capa- bilities. Through two exhibi- tions, Gabbert completed 10- of-19 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown, with no sacks, no interceptions and no fumbles. "I'm just worried about the things I can control, the things I put on the field and the way I lead these guys and lead this football team," Gabbert said. Added Kaepernick: "I can only worry about myself. I fo- cus on the reps that I get and the mental reps that I've taken, so when I step on the field, I feel I'm very prepared." Liset Castillo led the Bulldogs with 11 kills, three aces and 16 digs followed by Rachel Rogers with 10 kills, two aces and 13 digs. Sophomore Genesis Acevedo had five kills and two blocks; Kendall Williams had six aces and nine assists; Henna Acevado had two kills, three aces, a block and 10 digs; and sophomore Vale- ria Garnica had two kills, an as- sist and a block.
