One of the best events in our community every year is the Greater Fayetteville Chamber's State of the
Community Luncheon. It is one of the few opportunities each year to network with civic, business,
political, education and military leaders from across the county.
It is particularly relevant during the current atmosphere of strife in the country and around the globe
for the greater Fayetteville community to come and celebrate our ability to work cooperatively for
our mutual betterment. "The State of the Community luncheon is without a doubt one of the best
events of the year", says Darsweil Rogers, the Chamber's interim CEO. "We have some significant
growth opportunities in our community, particularly downtown Fayetteville. It is good for the entire
community to have an opportunity to share updates on what is happening," says Kitti Jo Finch, Chair
of the Chamber. A key role of the Chamber is to be the convener of people. It is through an active
conversation of the issues and opportunities in our community that we find solutions. A community
conversation like the State of the Community luncheon is an opportunity for everyone to appreciate
how interdependent we are in the success of the community. A ball field in downtown Fayetteville, to
a rebuilt dam in Hope Mills to the extensive road construction in Spring Lake it all impacts our success.
