W hile the Alpha Sig experience is certainly more than the bricks and mortar of the chapter house, our home undoubtedly plays a significant role in the development of our brothers and is a proud symbol of our shared values and goals. Built in 1920, the Old Gal has been a part of Mu Chapter's legacy for 95 years and is showing her age. It has become clear we must make a major investment in our chapter house if we are to remain competitive and provide a quality living environment. KEEPING OUR BROTHERS SAFE The safety of our members is of utmost importance to the Mu Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi. We are committed to offering a structurally sound and safe home that instills confidence in our members and their parents. SETTiNg OUrSElVES ApArT While Mu Chapter continues to attract some of UW's top men, we know that we are losing quality potential members to other fraternities that offer better facilities. Chi Psi, Theta Delta Chi, and Delta Tau Delta have recently completed renovations and several other fraternities are in the planning stages of major remodels. We must also compete with the amenities offered in off-campus apartments and newly renovated on-campus residence halls, including Terry and Lander as well as the new Maple Hall, which opened in the fall of 2015. PURSUING EXCELLENCE UW is as academically challenging as ever and the need for a modern, quiet, and comfortable study space within our facility is necessary for our members to achieve. We have seen the growth of technology over the years. Devices such as personal computers, high-speed internet access, and e-mail are essential elements of student life. Our plan will ensure that Mu Chapter excels academically and remains scholastic leaders on campus and within the Greek system. For Alpha Sigma Phi to remain a premier fraternity at UW, we must renovate and expand our facility in order to attract the caliber of men we would be proud to call brothers. the oLD gaL'S neeDS DiD You KnoW?
