e Washington Alpha Delt 3 Washington Chapter Continues Legacy of Success Members Excel in Academics and Philanthropy T he Washington Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi has never been more alive. We currently have 88 members in the active chapter, all of whom possess their own unique set of interests that give the fraternity a special ambiance. While holding true to our nickname "The Milk and Cookie Boys," we continue to uphold strong moral values and promote the development of young men into sophisticated and well-mannered gentlemen. Undergraduates Make Positive Impact on Campus Community Alpha Delta Phi has continued to be a strong social member of the Greek community. Among the most important events are our spring and fall formals, grab-a-dates, and participating in sorority philanthropy events. The spring formal in April entailed a weekend at a beautiful Coeur D'Alene resort with both friends and dates. In the spirit of events with dates, the Alpha Delts are known for going over the top with their grab-a-dates. These are date functions that take place in the chapter house, but under a certain theme. The most recent one we had was themed Candyland, and we decorated the entire chapter house based on the board game. Everyone loved it and it was a huge success. Sororities also host their own philanthropy events throughout the year and we consistently place in the top three in all of them. Their events consist of athletic competitions, talent shows, and dance competitions. We are also working on setting up a new literary event, open-mic night, this semester. Washington Chapter Places Third in Academics While philanthropies and formals are fun, the University of Washington is a prestigious institution that none of our members take lightly. Doing well academically has always been a fundamental ideal of Alpha Delta Phi, and it is one we continue to uphold. Consistently ranking among the top five fraternities every quarter for grades, we continue to flourish as a scholarly society. We most recently achieved our goal of getting a 3.43 average GPA for winter quarter that placed third overall for grades. This is the same GPA we had when we achieved first in GPA a year ago. Our strong academic success continues to attract members who have an interest in joining a fraternity and a strong desire to succeed in school. Thank You, Loyal Alumni, Family, and Friends Our prosperous chapter wouldn't be where it is today without our family and alumni. To give back to the people that have given us so much, we host a number of events for parents and alumni, including the mother-son dance and alumni functions throughout the year, such as Husky gamedays, Homecoming, and reunion dinners. The year has brought forth a significant amount of progress for our chapter, including a spring pledge class, revamping Bubble Bash, and much more. At our heart, however, we remain the same institution that has preached our values of the whole man to every pledge class that has come before, and all those that will come after.
