But these facts only make it a house. A structure. A residence. As you know, the Xi Chapter house is so much more. It is a home to our sisters as they learn and grow while on campus. The front porch is where new members celebrate Bid Day. The backyard is where big/little reveal happens. The bathrooms become a dance floor as everyone gets ready for the weekend. The TV room becomes the place to watch the best Thursday-night shows. The kitchen is where you can have the best grilled cheese sandwich, made just for you. Xi Chapter is home in every sense of the word. The House Corporation Board (HCB) works on your behalf to make our house a home for our active members, as well as our alumnae, guests, and potential new members. We want it to be a home that is comfortable, welcoming, useful, and stylish! With the looming deadline of formal recruitment ahead, we are working diligently to update the first floor living space. Our goal is to create an inviting and warm atmosphere with ample seating, space to study, socialize, entertain, and live. We aim to create a space that will be used and loved for years to come, and we are almost there! We have selected a designer and have approved the fabrics and new furniture pieces, with scheduled delivery in June. Our ultimate and overall goal is for all alumnae, active members, and potential new members to walk in and say, "Wow, I really feel at home in Alpha Chi Omega!" The HCB is currently accepting your generous monetary donations to help us finalize this redecoration project. If you have been looking for an opportunity to make an impact at Xi Chapter, this is it! Your donations will help us add to the design plan and truly outfit the space with style, function, and flair. Please consider being part of this tremendous transformation, and welcome home! Lindsay Lanoha Tettenborn '02 was the first sister to choose Alpha Chi Omega in recruitment, and it left a large impact on the rest of the sisters. "I'll never forget the bond, love, and support evident among ACW women throughout the recruitment process," Lindsay says. "You couldn't help but want to be a part of it all." "For me, family was everything going into recruitment," Brittany Lanoha Kotera '03 says. "Lindsay was only one year ahead of me when I was a freshman, so when I walked into ACW, I saw so many familiar faces that it was like home already." Abby Lanoha '10 felt the same, as she wanted to share that special bond she so often heard about. "Even though we were in the chapter at different times, we were able to share a lot of the same experiences and traditions with one another," Abby says. All four sisters held executive offices during their undergraduate years and were able to strengthen their skills before graduation. "Juggling sorority life and responsibilities with school forced me to multitask," Brittany says. "My ACW connections in the professional world have taken me down paths I would have never imagined," Lindsay agrees. The four sisters still stop by the Xi Chapter house when heading to Lincoln for a Husker football game, and Holly will even try to park in her old senior parking stall. "My sisters and I still feel a lot of ownership and pride in 716 N. 16th Street," Holly Lanoha Doerneman '07 says. "Some of our favorite memories will be in those walls forever." Lindsay, Brittany, Holly, and Abby are fortunate to all live in the same city, Omaha, Nebraska, and see each other multiple times a week. Lindsay and her husband have two children, Michael and Vivian, and she works at Union Pacific; Brittany works as a neurosurgery physician assistant, and she and her husband have two children, Kelli and Quincy; Holly got married in May 2015 and is a family practice physician assistant; and Abby recently started her career as a registered nurse.
