April 6, 2016 www.DesertMessenger.com 13 "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." ~ Walt Disney Museum Docents honored Times Three Family Restaurant 1265 W. Main St., Quartzsite (West of McDonald's, North side of I-10) OPEN 8am-8pm • 7 Days a Week • 928-927-6014 We have had a very good year so far, and I would like to thank each one of you for dining with us this season. In normal times we would be thinking of closing along about the end of March - BUT... Mountain Quail is closing for a month because of road repairs on Moon Mountain Road. Norm has asked us to stay open for a month longer than usual. I know it's going to be hard, if not impossible, for us to give you the service and food that the Quail does - but we will try! Just wish the servers would come up and give us a hand. Oh well, I can wish, can't I? Our new hours are from 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. Our policy is that if you don't like our food and you don't eat it you don't have to pay. So come on in and give us a try. - And - let us know how we are doing. ~ Carl & Crew Whether you're a homeowner or professional excavator, every digging job requires a call — even small projects — so be sure to: Not calling can be life threatening and costly. Quartzsite Historical Soci- ety Docents Gilbert and Ruth Brown were honored at the end-of-the-season meeting on March 30, 2016. The Browns were recognized for their tire- less efforts over the past 8 years, serving as tour guides, interacting with visitors to make sure they had a memo- rable experience. The Browns will be staying in their north- ern home and will be missed by so many. Gil inspired volunteers to begin the excavation and restoration of the Oasis Hotel. The Quartzsite Historical Society opened Tyson's Well Museum in February 1980. The museum houses artifacts of the old west, photographs and old min- ing equipment. Outside in the yard is the original assay shack from the Mariq- uita Mine, which offers a peak into the everyday life of the miners. Also, in the yard is the handiwork of Walter Barrett. Just to the west of the museum are the ruins of the Oasis Hotel, which is being restored. Summer hours are 9 AM to 12 PM on Thursdays or by appointment. Admission is Free; located just east of Silly's on Main Street.
