3 FORMAL RECRUITMENT WORKSHOPS UNDERWAY New Location for Fall Formal Recruitment A labama Beta is overjoyed to have already begun recruitment workshops on the weekends with the freshman New Member class to show them the ropes and teach them how to be enthusiastic and effective recruiters for formal recruitment this fall. The members of the freshman New Member class have had excellent attitudes and are exceeding our expectations already. We can't wait to see our chapter come together for a recruitment workshop in August. We will hold fall formal recruitment in Bryant-Denny Stadium as our new chapter house will be in the building process. We see a great deal of potential for our chapter during this rebuilding experience. Our annual Spring Tea on April 2, where we invite PNMs to come to the house and meet active members in a fun, casual atmosphere, is an event we look forward to every year. Fall 2016 formal recruitment will be held August 5–13. Please email albetavpm@gmail.com with any questions regarding the recruitment process. We expect a great turnout and are excited to meet the women participating! Yours in Pi Phi, Rachel Silaski '14 Vice President of Communication albetavpc@gmail.com If you know a PNM who would like to receive information and possible contact from our chapter, please send her name and address to albetador@gmail.com. All RIFs, recommendations and legacy forms should be mailed to Pi Beta Phi, Attn: Jacqueline Cloutier, P.O. Box 11067, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35486. Did You Know? Illinois Alpha, our founding chapter, lost its charter after Monmouth College ordered all fraternities to disband in the 1880s. The chapter continued to operate underground for several years and then continued as a local fraternity until local fraternities were banned, too. Sixty years after our founding, Monmouth College invited national fraternities back to campus and, at that year's convention, approved the new charter. The Alpha Chapter was reinstalled on May 25, 1928, with five of the six living founders in attendance.
