The Alabama Arrow 2 new FormAl reCruitment loCAtion ACCommodAtes growing CHApter I could not be more proud of how the chapter received and responded to the exciting news of a new chapter house. Everyone is ready to make the modular unit our new home for the next three semesters as we build a home that can fully serve our entire chapter. We are thrilled that we have been given the opportunity to host formal recruitment in Bryant-Denny Stadium this August. Vice President of Membership Jacqueline Cloutier '14 said, "I'm excited to be recruiting in the stadium! Dee Dee Shashy '06, along with our AAC, is helping us plan our recruitment in this new space, which allows us to comfortably accommodate the increasing number of women that will be participating in formal recruitment and gives us the opportunity to make all of our creative plans for showcasing our sisterhood during recruitment a reality." The National Panhellenic Conference has eliminated skits from recruitment in an effort to bring values- based recruitment to all campuses across the country. We are looking forward to the new Sisterhood Day during the third round of recruitment. This round will promote our six core values to Potential New Members (PNM) and will feature the Alabama Pi Phi membership experience in a short video. spring events At-A-glAnCe The past few months have been full of so many wonderful memories and sisterhood events, such as outdoor ice skating in December, winter formal and celebrating Mardi Gras in February. Our members, including Taylor Dickinson '12 and Caroline Collins '12, were able to attend the National Championship game in Phoenix, Arizona, last month and witnessed Alabama win the title for the fourth time in seven years. Roll Tide Roll! Parents' Weekend was held on March 4-6, and we loved showing all of our wonderful parents around the chapter house and filling them in on what we've been up to this semester. Parents' Weekend coincided with the Follow Your Arrow 5K on March 5, which supports Pi Phi's Literacy Fund as well as the President's Mansion Easter Egg Hunt on March 6. It will certainly be a busy spring full of activities, including a Leadership Development Consultant (LDC) visit March 21–28, Pie a Phi philanthropic event on April 15, Order of Omega Banquet on April 20 and Founders' Day on April 24.
