Trent Lowell Rose, 21, was named as the suspect in a case that has been handed over to the Tehama Interagency Drug Enforcement Task Force with charges including arson and manufacturing a controlled substance, ac- cording to a Coring Police Department press release. The investigation is ongoing. Corning Police responded at 2:03 p.m. Sat- urday to report of an apartment on fire, lo- cated a fully engulfed closet in an apartment and worked with Corning Volunteer Fire De- partment to put it out. The fire reignited multiple times and it was while fighting the reigniting fire that it was determined to involve butane honey oil. Safety precautions were taken and person- nel were able to suppress the fire from outside. One resident of the apartment was treated by medical personnel on scene for burns to their hands. Numerous cans of butane and other compo- nents used to manufacture honey oil were lo- cated during the initial investigation. The Tehama County Public Works website lists seasonal and storm-caused closures and noted that Inghram Road in the Capay area was closed as of Friday due to the storm. Seasonal closures included: Morrison Bryan at Burris Creek, Shasta Boulevard between 62nd Avenue and Eighth Ave- nue, Paskenta Road at Red Bank Creek and Hall Road at Thomes Creek. The California Highway Patrol website listed a number of locations that were closed Saturday due to flooding. A request for closure at Hooker Creek Road from Hickman Lane to the railroad tracks was issued about 1:40 p.m. Saturday due to flooding entering the road at multiple spots with another note of flooded conditions in the area of Landes and Bowman roads. "I'd like to thank every- one for coming and all the sponsors and donors who have helped make our scholarship possible," Pres- ident Jason Spencer said. "I'd like to thank them for donating to this program and the junior rodeo. This community has always been really supportive of all the organizations, but especially those for our youth." The goal was to raise about $4,500 for the schol- arship fund, Spencer said. Between the dinner tick- ets, live and silent auctions and an opportunity award, the event raised around $8,500, organizers said Sunday night. This is the 15th year for the scholarship dinner, but one of the first to have the addition of the name of long-time junior rodeo memberDebbieMoorewho passed away in 2015. The steering commit- tee is raising funds for the on-going cost of maintain- ing K-9 Officer Many, but also in hopes of securing a second K-9, said Janee Hoover, committee chair- woman.
