3 ALPHA GAMMA DELTA A s we begin the spring semester at the University of Alabama, the women of Psi Chapter are extremely happy to be back on campus. It is always an exciting time to be a member of Alpha Gamma Delta and we are looking forward to the many sisterhood events and service opportunities we have planned this semester. In addition to their participation in Psi, our members are extremely involved on and off campus. We have countless members who hold leadership positions in various organizations and who are focused on making a difference in the Tuscaloosa community. PSI WINS GREEK EXCELLENCE AWARD Though we are just a couple months into the year, Psi Chapter is already having a wonderful spring semester. Our members have been busy participating in service and campus events. We successfully hosted THREADS in the beginning of February and had a great turn out. At the Greek Excellence Awards, Psi won the award for Outstanding Service and Philanthropy. Polly Ricketts '12 received the Dr. Kathleen Powers Cramer Scholarship. CHAPTER HOSTS COACH AVERY JOHNSON The chapter house has also seen lots of visitors this year. ESPN Gameday returned to film at Alpha Gam for the Ole Miss game in the fall. In early January, we had two visitors from International Headquarters travel to Tuscaloosa to facilitate officer transitions and assess chapter well-being. Coach Avery Johnson also stopped by during dinner in February to give a pep talk to our members for the Texas A&M game and encouraged us to attend. He even stayed after for selfies and autographs. The Sozo Children's Choir utilized our dining room for meals while performing at the University, which allowed some of our members to mingle with the singers. ALUMNAE, PLEASE SEND RECRUITMENT RECOMMENDATIONS There have been some changes made to recruitment at the University. This year, sororities will no longer host Christmas teas or participate in preview weekend. However, our members are gearing up for Alpha Gam's spring party on April 9. If you have any recruitment recommendations to make, or questions about how you can help Psi Chapter this semester, please e-mail Vice President of Recruitment Kelly Greene '13 at kagreene1@crimson. ua.edu. We are always grateful for the wonderful support from our alumnae and hope you will stop by the chapter house soon.
