U
ndergraduates and alumni alike anticipate the additions and renovations to our beloved yet worn-out chapter house. As the
construction proceeds, some portions of the house will be blocked off and each undergraduate will have to switch room several
times over the course of the 16-month construction period from May 2016 to early August 2017. At times there will be noise, debris, lack
of parking spaces, and construction workers in the house—which are all relatively minor inconveniences necessary to return the Chapter
House to one we can be proud of once again.
Here are is our anticipated timeline as it stands now:
MAY 2
Asbestos and lead paint removal.
MAY 16
Chapter house closed for the summer and
movers to remove remaining furniture for
storage.
MAY‑AUGUST
Start additions, electrical, HVAC, and
plumbing. Replace roof.
AUGUST
Brothers move back in for the school year.
DECEMBER
Occupy rear addition. Third floor is closed
for renovation.
FEBRUARY 2017
Third floor reopens.
APRIL 2017
1955 second floor reopens; close the right
wing on the second floor.
SUMMER 2017
Close entire first floor and left wing on the
second floor.
AUGUST 2017
All renovations and additions open.
