Ties to Tau page 6 A s we begin the spring semester, I am so pleased to share with you the many changes and successes of Tau Chapter. Last fall, we saw major renovations occur in our beloved Chapter house, welcomed more than 50 wonderful new members into our sisterhood, and raised nearly $4,800 for the Delta Gamma Foundation with our new fall philanthropy. As a Chapter, we are excited to build on these achievements this spring. Tau Raises $4,750 for the Delta Gamma Foundation This fall, we decided to redesign our fall philanthropy. We changed it to "Dunkin' with the DGs" and it was a roaring success. The event included selling a cup of coffee and doughnuts for $5 in Hubbard Park for Service for Sight. We had terrific attendance and raised more money than we ever have before. Through this event, we were able to raise $4,750 to help support the Delta Gamma Foundation. Delta Gamma Hosts Educational Opportunity for Campus Students This semester, we were also able to host an exciting and unique experience. VP Panhellenic Emily Gilbert '13 helped organize for guest speaker, Jeff Bauman, a Boston Marathon bombing survivor, to come tell us his story. We had Greek life members, as well as non-Greeks flock to attend this unique experience. Sisters Enjoy Fall Traditions One of the best things about fall semester is Homecoming. This year, Delta Gamma participated in "Iowa Shout," performing a skit and a dance. We were paired with the men of Phi Delta Theta and the women of Alpha Epsilon Phi for these performances. It was a fun experience and we had a lot of our members participate in the Homecoming activities. Another fun activity this past fall was our annual Dad's Weekend. Fathers and daughters attended the football game and then ate dinner together. The weekend was completed with a scholarship brunch to honor our members' hard work and academic success. Alumnae, Come See the Renovations! The women of Tau Chapter have had many new experiences and successes this semester. It has truly been a remarkable time for all of us at Tau. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our alumnae who have been so generous and have helped so much with renovating our Chapter house. We absolutely love the renovations, and would love to show them to any of our wonderful alumnae who find themselves in the Iowa City area.
