PAGE 4 PLAN 1: FIRST FLOOR ADDITION • Add 1,903 square feet to the first floor of the lodge • Enlarge kitchen to be more accessible with modernized appliances to support group meals and events • Increase and modernize lodge bathrooms to accommodate growing number of members and guests • Enhance storage for archival, recruitment and ritual materials • Provide ample study space, including areas for individual and group study • Replace the heating and air-conditioning system for greater efficiency and temperature regulation • Make major updates to the exterior of the lodge, including but not limited to a new roof, landscaping, and new columns and trellises for structural durability and aesthetic appeal • Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, fire-rated doors and full compliance with code specifications PLAN 2: STRUCTURAL RENOVATION AND ADDITION • Add square footage to several areas of the lodge by expanding the basement to the west, a first floor addition, and a new second floor with elevator access to all floors • Accommodate membership and program requirements with a larger chapter room • Enlarge kitchen to be more accessible with modernized appliances to support group meals and events • Increase and modernize lodge bathrooms to accommodate growing number of members and guests • Enhance storage for archival, recruitment and ritual materials • Provide ample study space, including areas for individual and group study • Replace the heating and air-conditioning system for greater efficiency and temperature regulation • Make major updates to the exterior of the lodge, including but not limited to a new roof, landscaping, and new columns and trellises for structural durability and aesthetic appeal • Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, fire-rated doors and full compliance with code specifications PLAN 3: NEW LODGE • Demolish and reshape lot while preserving memorable features of the lodge • Create a premier lodge to eliminate issues from an aging facility and accommodate growing membership • Design a larger, more accessible kitchen with modernized appliances to support group meals and events • Accommodate membership and program requirements with a large chapter room • Provide modernized bathrooms to accommodate growing number of members and guests • Develop additional storage space for archival, recruitment and ritual materials • Provide ample study space, including areas for individual and group study • Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, fire-rated doors and full compliance with code specifications Project plans and costs are preliminary and for discussion purposes only. Through careful study, assessment, and planning, it has been determined that updates and maintenance to the lodge are necessary, and we must invest in our lodge to meet the needs of today's students.
