The following defend- ants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Te- hama County District At- torney's Office: RecentCountyJail Commitments: People vs. Brijida Elam- Gonzalez, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Brief history: The De- fendant and her step-fa- ther were arguing and the verbal argument became a physical confrontation. The Defendant's mother broke up the fight, at which point the Defendant armed her- self with a steak knife and stabbed her step-father in the back and threatened to kill him. Sentenced to 5 years of formal probation, 4 years in state prison suspended, 105 days in Tehama County Jail People vs. Leah Dan- naker and Jeffrey Dan- naker, Manufacturing a Controlled Substance and Child Abuse Brief history: The nar- cotics task force received information of drug ac- tivity at the Crystal Mo- tel. Agents went to the motel and contacted the Defendant Leah Danna- ker; she admitted that her husband Jeffrey Dannaker was manufacturing con- centrated cannabis, but denied that the manufac- turing was occurring in the motel room. Agents observed evidence of a bu- tane honey oil lab, and lo- cated about 10 pounds of marijuana shake. The De- fendants' 16-year-old son was in the room with the evidentiary items and there were statements that they allowed him to use mari- juana on a regular basis. Each sentenced to 3 years of formal probation, 180 days in Tehama County Jail, 52 weeks of parenting classes, and 80 hours of community service People vs. David Baxter, Domestic Violence Brief history: Witnesses contacted the RBPD re- garding a woman who was yelling for help. Law en- forcement observed the fe- male victim with visible scratches and blood on her; her arm had a bite mark. She told the officers that the Defendant, her hus- band, had scratched and bitten her during an argu- ment. Sentenced to 5 years of formal probation, 180 days in Tehama County Jail, 80 hours of community ser- vice and 52 week batterers treatment program People vs. Artermio Lar- ios Castillo, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed with a Firearm Brief history: Law en- forcement raided a mar- ijuana grow. The Defen- dant was contacted at the grow. He had a 9 mm pis- tol tucked into his waist- band and a small quantity of methamphetamine in his wallet. Sentenced to 3 years of formal probation and 120 days in Tehama County Jail People vs. Gianna Charles, Elder Abuse Brief history: Defendant received a car ride from the 85 year old Victim. She be- gan accusing the Victim of killing her son. She ripped the rearview mirror from the vehicle and began hit- ting the Victim with it. He suffered bumps and bruises to his eye and nose. Sentenced to 5 years of formal probation, 120 days in Tehama County Jail People vs. Christopher Rosa, Receiving a Stolen Vehicle Brief history: The Sher- iff's Department was con- tacted by a citizen who was concerned the Defen- dant was in possession of a stolen motorcycle. A dep- uty responded and con- tacted the Defendant at the Chevron; the motorcy- cle in his possession had a punched ignition and was spray painted. The woman accompanying the Defen- dant told the Deputy that she had heard the Defen- dant say the motorcycle was stolen. The motorcy- cle had been recently sto- len from Citrus Heights. Sentenced to 3 years of formal probation, 90 days in Tehama County Jail, and 80 hours of community ser- vice People vs. Luis Mendoza, Vandalism Brief history: Defendant was intoxicated and up- set while at Love's Travel Stop. He kicked and de- stroyed two cement trash bins, each valued at about $1,000. He admitted caus- ing the damage. Sentenced to 3 years of formal probation, 90 days in Tehama County Jail, and 80 hours of community ser- vice People vs. Daniel Gridley III and Cody Shira, Second Degree Burglary Brief history: A storage container belonging to the Junior Claybusters was broken into and 38 boxes of ammunition, valued at several thousand dollars, was stolen. Nearby the Te- hama Rock Quarry's office was also burglarized, and items were stolen. The next day, the Defendants sold 15 boxes of the ammunition to a business in Red Bluff. When contacted by law en- forcement, the Defendants initially denied being in- volved in the theft but then admitted to breaking into the buildings. Each sentenced to 5 years of formal probation, 90 days in Tehama County Jail, and 80 hours of com- munity service Upcoming Court Dates -Trials, Preliminary Hearings (PX) & Pre Trial Conferences (PTC): People vs. James Jo- seph Pulizzano, Attempt, Willful, Deliberate and Premeditated Murder (2 counts), with Allegation Use of Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, As- sault with a Firearm with Allegation, Use of Fire- arm (2 counts), Criminal Threats Brief history: The De- fendant and the victim (Defendant's girlfriend) were arguing. The Defen- dant pulled out a revolver and started shooting at her. The victim's son was in the direct line of fire. The De- fendant missed both vic- tims but riddled the house with shots. The Defendant threatened to kill the vic- tim. The Defendant is a felon. Brief history: The De- fendant was arrested and charged with the murder of a 14-year-old victim who had been reported missing when she never returned home from school. Officers located the victim's body two days later.
