FALL 2015 Inside Staying Active as an Alumnus - 2 A Strong Start to Fall - 3 Welcome, New Members - 4 ΣΦΕ LATIRO F N C O L O R A D O A L P H A s U N I V E R S I T Y O F C O L O R A D O S I G M A P H I E P S I L O N THE AVC Seeks Alumni Volunteers L ike any organization, the AVC is continually looking for new members. In the past year, we have welcomed in a few new members to the board, which John Delva '11 presides over as President. Our current board is well-balanced with members new and seasoned, but we are always encouraging new ideas and fresh perspectives. We currently have two positions in particular, coordinating alumni relations and treasurer, for which we would encourage any interested alumni to contact John Delva at johndelva@gmail.com. Help Support Colorado Alpha Alumni who donated to the Chapter through our capital campaign had their names inscribed on a plaque that is now on display at the Chapter House. A long-term goal at Colorado Alpha was to renovate one of the common rooms on the main floor of our 100-year-old Chapter House into a true study room for our Chapter. Input from our committee of Chapter members and alumni, as well as the generous donations from our alumni to the chapter's educational fund, has resulted in a beautiful transformation of this space. The centerpiece of the room is a 5-by-12-foot timber frame table with our Fraternity letters carved into the middle. Paint, individual desks, conference table chairs, new carpeting, a printer, and better lighting rounded out the project, which was dedicated during our Balanced Man Awards ceremony this fall. A trophy case was also purchased to display the Chapter's many Buchanan Cups and awards. We voted to name the study after brother Kent Hickman '61, a tribute to his continued generosity to our Chapter. The study will serve our Chapter for many years to come. Announcing the Kent Hickman Study The recently renovated common room dedicated to Kent Hickman '61 as a new study room for undergraduate members. sigepcoalpha.com FACEBOOK Sigma Phi Epsilon Colorado Alpha TWITTER @CUSigEp - f l Visit Us Online
