E ven though many years have passed since most of us called 900 South Providence Road our "home," more than 180 sisters have remembered Mu chapter through their generous support of our campaign. Thank you! For more than a century, Mu chapter has been a leader in the Greek community at the University of Missouri. We continue to be recognized as a group of well-rounded and intelligent women who are involved on campus as leaders. Most importantly, we have maintained loyal friendships and a dedication to our heritage. Delta Gamma's continued excellence requires our intention and our participation. You have recently received information regarding our capital campaign, Anchored in Tradition: Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future. Through this effort, we hope to continue to maintain our reputation as having the most beautiful house on campus! Most of us would say that the friendships we made during our college years are still some of our most treasured. These friendships are even richer today and have been deepened by celebrations of marriages, children, careers, philanthropy and reunions. In today's busy world, we appreciate and value the joy of having friends who have been with us through many seasons of life, and we wish the same for the women who come after us. When collegians learned that women they have never met had invested more than $1,180,000 toward a new chapter house, they were sincerely grateful, and, as a group, made a sizeable financial contribution. Our new home will give future collegians the opportunity to establish friendships similar to ours and to make their own memories in an environment that is more suitable to the needs of today. Even with the success of the campaign so far, we still need donations to reach our hard and soft goals. To complete our ambitious new construction project, to ensure financial stability for our house corporation that manages the assets of Mu chapter, and to make fees reasonable for the collegiate women, we respectfully ask you to consider making a gift or pledge today. You may give a gift in honor of or in memory of a family member, pledge sister or friend. Our goal is to have every sister give what she can, as all gifts are important to the success of this campaign! Mu Chapter Alumnae, and Friends Give More than $1,180,000 From Your Campaign Co-Chairs (Continued on page 6) My View From The Top From Your House Corporation L ong ago when our family was faced with many challenges, this analogy was shared with me: Our life seen from only one perspective is like the underneath side of a tapestry—a jumbled mess with strands of thread, crisscrossing and tangled, all parts of a whole, yet with no clear direction or plan in sight. BUT, viewed from above, one sees a beautiful tapestry in the making. That is my view of the Mu chapter project: a beautiful tapestry in the making. The house corporation started on this project over two years ago when all the board officers were new to their positions. They decided it was time to address many concerns about our chapter's life in this grand old house and plan for the next 80 years. Many people were consulted; many paths started and changed! Lots of research in many directions took place. Even now with so many parts of the whole feeling like a tangled mess, I concentrate on the top of the tapestry: our beautiful design for the new home at 900 S. Providence Road.
