FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY Nebraska Chapter / University of Nebraska-Lincoln www.nebraskafarmhouse.org Fall 2015 CAMPAIGN SURPASSES $3.16 MILLION RAISED • FarmHouse Becomes Largest Fraternity Capital Campaign at UNL • Alumni Support Still Needed to Reach Goal I t is a great day to be a member of FarmHouse at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln! Earlier this month, we surpassed $3.16 million raised for our capital campaign, and became the first Fraternity at UNL to do so. This is no small task, and I am thankful for the 315 Barners who have supported our campaign efforts to date. We couldn't have done it without you! As the semester moves forward with full steam ahead, we are happy to report that things in Lincoln are going incredibly well for our undergraduate brothers. I am impressed with our young men, as they continually remind me why FarmHouse is important and why they are worthy of our investment. A full report on the chapter by Alumni Association President Steve Gangwish '01 can be found on page 4. One piece of news I will share: two undergraduate members, Ryan Drvol '13 and Brennan Costello '12, were nominated for Homecoming King. To have two members represented for this prestigious honor was certainly a highlight of the fall semester thus far. It's amazing to think about how far FarmHouse has come in the past 12 months. At this time last year, many of us were still reeling with the heartbreaking news about our younger brother, Clayton Real, and his sudden death. Many of us questioned if our Fraternity would even make it through the semester. But here we are. Twelve months later we are bigger and stronger than ever before. And what's most important is that through all of the struggles we've faced, our bond has never been broken. Through it all, alumni and undergraduates alike have stood together and committed themselves to FarmHouse. This is evident through The Next Hundred Years of Building Men campaign and the more than $3.16 million that has been raised to date. But there is still much work to be done! While we can take time to celebrate being the first Fraternity on campus to surpass $3 million, let us not forget our campaign goal, which is $3.5 million. We were the first to get to $3 million. Will we be the first to get to $3.5 million? I believe we will! If you have yet to donate, now is the time! Please use the enclosed pledge form and join the more than 300 Barners who have already donated. Pledges are 100% tax deductible through the FarmHouse Foundation and can be spread out over a five-year period. Many brothers have taken advantage of this unique opportunity in order to make a truly meaningful impact. If you have already given back to the campaign, I sincerely thank you. But we need your help now more than ever before. We need your help in reaching the 890 alumni that have yet to donate. Please review the enclosed donor list and call a brother whose name is not listed. Share with him why you decided to give back to this once- in-a-lifetime opportunity and why supporting FarmHouse in this way is important to you. Thank you for all you are doing to support FarmHouse at UNL! Here's to reaching $3.5 million! Fraternally, Ryan D. Downs '88 Campaign Chairman ryan@ryandowns.net / (402) 740-3658 Volunteers Needed A s we move forward with the design and building of our new chapter house, we are looking for alumni that have expertise in construction and are interested in serving on the Building and Construction Committee. These alumni will work closely with architects Jeff Monzu '89 and Leo A. Daly. If you are interested in being on the committee, please contact Steve Wirth '01 at (402) 617-0887 or swirthdds@gmail.com.
