In August, MO Gamma received the Buchanan Cup at the 54th Grand Chapter Conclave. The Chapter has been working hard to achieve this national recognition for the past few years, and the hard work finally paid off. The last time MO Gamma received the award was in 1997, and this year's honor marks the sixth Buchanan Cup. I am also proud to announce that the Chapter welcomed 28 new members. All new members attended EDGE on October 10-11 at the YMCA Camp Lakewood Trout Lodge in Potosi, Missouri. EDGE is SigEp's national weekend-long program that stresses how to overcome obstacles and create healthy habits for a lifetime of achievement. GREEK WEEK Greek Week was held on September 12-19. The Chapter put a lot of time and effort into the event and finished in fourth place. This year, everyone decided on a Jurassic Park theme. We built a chariot resembling the Jeep from the movies, and to top it off, a few men even wore T. rex costumes. The university took a video of the chariot and posted it to Facebook. The video has close to 4 million views and gave SigEp some great publicity. SERVING THE COMMUNITY After a vote to raise the number of service hours, SigEp has been dedicated to making a lasting impression on the community, and the results are paying off. The fall semester is not even halfway over, and members have already accumulated a total of 2,352 hours. This brings the member average all the way up to more 25 hours per member. MOM'S DAY In September, the Chapter hosted another successful Mom's Day. The day started off at the Three Squirrels Winery in St. James and ended with a nice dinner at the Chapter House. More than 50 mothers attended. The Chapter is thankful for Trevor Townsend '16, who tirelessly planned this successful event.
