ΣΦΕ The SigEp Seminole FLORIDA EPSILON s FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY s SIGMA PHI EPSILON Fall 2015 INSIDE: Alumnus Spotlight 2 s Where in the World are the Florida Epsilons? 3 s Alumni News 3-4 I n recent months, SigEp has influenced campus in unprecedented ways since its recolonization. With an eye on sustainability and continued growth, I do not see the progress and achievements of this Chapter slow- ing down. MEMBERSHIP MORE THAN DOUBLES IN SIZE The Balanced Man Program has provided effective recruiting strategies with an emphasis on personal responsibility and personal growth. As a result, membership into this Chapter has become one of the most highly demanded at Florida State. Our manpower has jumped from 53 to 120 in just four years. Our Chapter is expecting to add 30 more members this fall, which would bring our total manpower to its highest point since recolonization. UNDERGRADUATES INVOLVED ON CAMPUS AND IN THE COMMUNITY Our involvement in the Florida State and the Tallahassee community has been extensive to say the least, with brothers choosing to pursue leadership positions through student government, university ambassadors, orientation leaders, and the Interfraternity Council. While many brothers choose to get involved on campus, several others have chosen to kick start their pro- fessional development through internships at the Florida Senate, United States House of Representatives, Northwestern Mutual, MasterCard, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Florida Epsilon welcomed John Thrasher '66 as the new President of Florida State University. John was also welcomed back to campus as a Florida Epsilon brother, having graduated as a Florida Epsilon SigEp in 1966. I had the chance to meet with John and he was extremely pleased to hear that his alma mater Chapter is once again back on campus and thriv- ing. He told me he plans on being engaged with us as much as he can, and hopes to visit during a Chapter meeting in the fall. John is an indispensable ally for our Chapter, and we look forward to getting to know him. THANK YOU, GENEROUS ALUMNI, FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT In the past five years, SigEp has accomplished everything a Fraternity has to accomplish at FSU. We have raised over $100,000 for charity, included valued members of our nation's military into our organization, been named the 2013 Fraternity of the Year, and received our charter. A major part of our Chapter, which we feel is extremely valuable, is our Chapter's A REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF EXCELLENCE Florida Epsilon Proves Dedication to Membership, Involvement, and Brotherhood (Top left) Florida Epsilon received its charter at the Re-Installation Banquet and has gained status as an officially recognized Chapter after five years of hard work and dedication.
