p. 2 The SigEp Seminole history. We want to get to know all the alumni of Florida Epsilon, which is why I am looking forward to working with AVC President Rob Atkisson '93 to plan successful alumni events this fall. It is surely a great time to be a SigEp at FSU, and I know the entire Chapter looks forward to continuing our excellence on campus and get- ting to know the alumni who shared our experi- ences. Thank you for all of your support, and I am very excited for what lies ahead for us! Fraternally, AJ D'Amico '16 Chapter President ajd12b@my.fsu.edu (305) 898-6484 A REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF EXCELLENCE (Continued from page 1) Sigma Phi Epsilon joined Alpha Delta Pi in doing their part to end sexual misconduct and to live by the oath they have sworn at Florida State University. Brothers celebrate their tremendous team win at Alpha Omicron Pi's Strike out Arthritis Wiffleball Tournament. Stop by FSU and Connect with Florida Epsilon Brothers! Building a Stronger Florida Epsilon Founding Father Ryan Rabac '14 Committed to the Success of Sigma Phi Epsilon R yan Rabac '14 was confident from the start that he had made the right decision to attend Florida State University, but he did not know right away that he was destined to join a Fraternity. "There was a confidence and sense of community the Florida State tour guides demonstrated that I did not see in any of the other schools I visited. It just felt right." It was when SigEp Headquarters interviewed candidates for The Balanced Man scholarship that Ryan learned about an opportunity to become a part of something bigger than himself, and became a founding father of the rechartering of Florida Epsilon. As a founding father, Ryan has significantly impacted the success and stability of the Florida Epsilon Chapter. Being entrusted by his brothers to lead the Chapter as president has given Ryan confidence to overcome challenges, and is what keeps him permanently invested in the brotherhood. One brother in particular, Jared Lyon '11, played a big role in founding the re-chartered Sigma Phi Epsilon and in Ryan's undergraduate experience. "Jared has been a friend, mentor, and role model to myself and many brothers. His vision was critical to the early growth of our Chapter and he continues to challenge me to better myself." Ryan credits his preparation for life after college to his involvement in the Chapter. Not only did SigEp provide him with networking and conflict management skills, but also with the ability to live by meaningful values and do good for others. Ryan cherishes his involvement with the Chapter as an alumnus, and encourages Florida Epsilon brothers to stay connected. "Your undergraduate career is really only the beginning. There is a huge national network out there that keeps growing if you continue to volunteer and stay in touch with your brothers. We are part of an organization that values and takes good care of our volunteers, and it is a rewarding experience to give back." The reuniting of two SigEp brothers who had lost connection with each other for several years is a moment that Ryan will never forget. "I watched two brothers from our original group in 1950 reunite and hug each other in our Chapter House. The bonds we have are for life and I hope to come back and hug my brother one day over 60 years later. If it means something to you, then take a moment to reconnect your warm memories with the same Chapter that lives on today." Since graduating from Florida State University, Ryan works as the Digital Communications Coordinator for Student Veterans of America (SVA), a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., which represents 460,000 veterans in higher education across the country. Before joining SVA, he worked at the Institute for Veterans and Military Families while completing his Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. His hobbies include working out, watching sports, playing tennis, exploring local craft breweries, and exploring all that Washington, D.C., has to offer. "I'm thankful for all of the veterans and active duty military members in our Fraternity for their service to our country, and for sharing their friendship and experiences." Founding Father Ryan Rabac '14 has provided continuous support and dedication to Florida Epsilon, and is proud of how far the Chapter has come since recolonization.
