The chapter recruited 51 out of 55 men they extended bids to. Welcome, NeW members RE-COLONIZING MEMBER DAN WHITE '06 PROUD OF CA DELTA'S RISE TO THE TOP W hen Dan White '06 joined CA Delta, he encountered a situation that most SigEp members never have to tackle— recolonization. However, he faced the issue head on and not only helped return CA Delta to its rightful place on the SDSU campus, he even became chapter president (along with VP of programming and social chairman). "We had just recolonized when I joined Cal Delta, and one of our main focuses was re-gaining our charter," said Dan. "The AVC, specifically Ron Smith '69, Dann Whalen '69, Skip Dahlkamp '64, Bob Trovaten '67, and Bob Gibbs '63, did a fantastic job recruiting a dynamic group of guys to start the process. Over the next few years (and beyond) their guidance, trust, and support led us to not only gain our charter but to become the premier fraternity on campus." After graduating with a degree in public administration, Dan worked at a large construction company where he spent seven years holding various management positions. In 2012, he became general manager at a newly formed residential home remodeling company in San Diego. It has since become one of the largest and most highly-rated remodeling companies in the city. Dan credits much of his professional success to his time spent at SigEp. "Anyone can spend hours with their nose buried in books to graduate college. However, to gain the experience of managing people, projects and classes, all the while dealing with the diversity and day-to-day distractions involved in fraternity life, cannot be replicated. Not to mention the lifelong brothers I gained." SigEp even played a large role in Dan's personal life: he met his wife, Shannon, through brother Adam Lopez '08. He and Shannon welcomed their first child, Duke, in 2014. In his spare time, Dan can be found sampling local craft beers, enjoying golf cart rides with his family, riding his Harley, and attending Aztec football games.
