Vending machines must be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") regulations, including the new side reach regulations requiring all operable parts be no higher than 48 inches and no lower than 15 inches. Initially, the County is interested in a vendor to supply and serv- ice vending machines in three locations: 2460 Breslauer (50% healthy vending options), 1400 California Street (50% healthy vending options), and 2640 Breslauer (100% healthy vending options). In support of its em- ployee wellness program and the need to provide healthy snacks to program consumers, the County is seeking vending machines supplied with healthy vending options, priced at an amount equal to, or lower than, the prices of the items not meet- ing the following Fit PickTM guidelines promoted by Healthy Shasta: Food and snack items must be, no more than: "35 percent calories from fat (excluding legumes, nuts, nut butters, and seeds); "10 percent calories from saturated fat (excluding cheese); "35 percent total weight from sugar (excluding dried fruit); " 290 milligrams of so- dium per serving for snacks; and " 575 milligrams of so- dium per serving for entrees.
