The weather was wet and cold, but that didn't stop the crowd from gathering under the tent in front of the new house to share the excitement of seeing the almost complete (at that time) new chapter house. Dignitaries from Drake were in attendance, including John Smith and Diane Caldbeck from the Office of Alumni and Development. In one of his last official capacities as Drake president, David Maxwell shared a few words with the crowd, wished us success, and thanked us for how we have transformed 34th Street. After the ceremony, everybody toured the new house and was in awe as to how beautiful it is. Our open house for the Drake administration took place on August 21, the day before the undergraduate brothers moved in. It was attended by new Drake President Marty Martin. Our new house mom, Sandi Moran, was also there to greet everyone and introduce herself. We look forward to many alumni brothers joining us for the next Relays (April 29-30) and the official dedication of the named rooms in the house. Campaign Chairman Tom Rossley '82 puts the finishing touches on the Theta Chi house during move-in weekend. The new chapter house is filled with modern furnishings. See what furniture items still need to be purchased on our wish list above. The formal entryway. More funds are needed to complete our QC home.
