I
t is has been a very busy time here at Tau
Chapter with many wonderful things such
as academic achievements, awards, and
recruitment success leading Alpha Delta Pi into
a bright fall semester.
Academic Leaders
We ended the spring semester with a 3.32
GPA, which is above the Panhellenic average,
ranking us sixth among Panhellenic chapters.
Our scholarship chairman, Meghan Ketcham
'13, established a mentorship program, in which
older members are paired with younger members
in the same major. This program has been a great
way for older members to meet new members
and stay involved.
Recruitment Success
Recruitment went extremely well for Tau
Chapter and we welcomed home more than 60
new ADPs. We are excited to get to know all
of these incredible women better. These new
members will participate in a 10-week education
program, where they will learn everything about
Alpha Delta Pi. Initiation has been set for early
November.
Phenomenal Philanthropic
Involvement
Last semester, we not only won the Phi Psi 500,
which was a week-long competitive philanthropy
event, but we placed third in the Sigma Chi's
Derby Days. This semester, we are excited to
be paired with the men of Alpha Tau Omega for
Homecoming, which is set for October 25-31.
Awarding Alpha Delta Pi
This summer, I was able to attend Grand
Convention along with our chapter advisor, Anne
Smith, Texas Tech University '07, and our house
corporation representative, Liz Miller '07. At
Grand Convention, Bailey Borgmier '11 was
awarded the Dorothy Shaw Leadership Award,
which is the highest individual award given to an
Alpha Delta Pi. We were so proud of her for this
achievement.
Gearing up for Intramurals
We are excited to compete in intramurals this
semester, following last semester's success
as outdoor soccer champions. This semester,
members will be participating in flag football,
indoor soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
We are eager to see what is in store for our
chapter this semester and have high hopes it will
be as successful as our last! Please stop by the
chapter house next time you are in Lawrence. We
would love to see you! Rock Chalk!
