Always Alpha Phi 2 T he foundation of Alpha Phi as a sorority that promotes scholarship, leadership, and sisterhood has left a lasting mark on the life of Kristin Schmitt Kuhlmann '05. Those values matched with Kristin's own goals, helping her graduate from Mizzou in three years while maintaining a high GPA and gaining leadership qualities—all accomplishments that effectively helped her market herself to future employers. Kristin earned a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. A strong resume built during her years in Alpha Phi and business school earned her a spot right after graduation as one of 10 trainees hired by Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company. She remains with the company today as a medical device sales representative. She still reflects on time spent as a chapter officer and the skills she learned and continues to apply today. "I was VP of administration as an active. Not a glamorous job, but it did require organizational skills and the use of Excel, which I still use today." Of course, there are more fun memories as well—Hayride parties, hours spent in the annex with friends, Dad's Weekend, and tailgating with sisters. "We were a great group of women, and I was always proud to wear my letters on campus. I continue recommending Alpha Phi to family and friends because I had such a positive experience. Alpha Phi enhanced my college experience, and I know it continues to be a home away from home." With the calls of career and family, Kristin enjoys seeing her Alpha Phi sisters on social media, watching everyone travel, get married, and have children of their own. She made it back to Alpha Phi for the Omicron Centennial and enjoyed catching up with friends. Kristin makes her home in Ballwin, Missouri, with her husband, Dan, a Phi Kap from Mizzou. Your gifts have transformed our chapter house and made it a more useable and livable space for today's undergraduates. The alumnae and friends listed below represent those who contributed to Omicron in 2015. If an error has been made in recording your gift, we sincerely apologize. If corrections to your record are needed, please contact us at Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi, P.O. Box 1001, Columbia, Missouri 65205. You Have Raised More Than $8,000 for Omicron This Year Tiger, Anna, in June. Kristin can be reached at schmitt.kristin@yahoo.com. A benefit of Kristin's position with Ethicon is that they'll match her charitable giving. This means her recent contribution to the Alpha Phi Foundation for the benefit of Omicron Chapter was doubled thanks to her company's match! Each year, billions in workplace matching funds go unclaimed because employees often don't know about the opportunity for their employer to match their charitable gifts. Check with your own employer to see if your gift to Alpha Phi could go even further through a company matching program. In addition, thank you to those alumnae who continue to make payments on their pledges to the capital campaign.
