SECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE THROUGH ROTUNDA Our vision for gamma chi T he success of our undergraduate chapter is the lifeblood of Pi Kappa Alpha. Like the undergraduates, we made our membership in PKA the best it could be for ourselves and others. But our experience was the result of not only our efforts but those alumni who preceded us and provided ongoing support to the fraternity. While the state of the Chapter is strong, we must come together to ensure our future. ere has been a paradigm shi in the housing market at Oklahoma State as today's college students and their parents expect more for their housing dollars. While Gamma Chi continues to attract some of the top men, we know that we are losing quality potential members to other fraternities that offer better facilities. Chapters such as Sigma Chi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Alpha Gamma Rho, and FarmHouse have already renovated or built new structures, and several other chapters are pursuing significant investments in their facilities. In recent years, the Gamma Chi alumni leadership began assessing our future at Oklahoma State. It was clear the house at 221 South Lincoln was not meeting the needs of today's student, and that the fraternity must make a major investment in the chapter house in order to provide a beneficial educational experience in an up-to-date facility that will serve young college men well into the next century. Plans were developed to renovate and expand our house—and then, in a single moment, two questions were asked that forever changed the future of Gamma Chi. "Why don't we think bigger?" "Why don't we move to University Avenue?" Within hours of these words being spoken, discussions were held with influential members of the Oklahoma State, Stillwater, and Gamma Chi communities. ere was no going back. Pi Kappa Alpha was taking the necessary steps to create the premier fraternity house in the country— at the premier location in Stillwater. Aer spending more than a year in discussions and negotiations, Gamma Chi took ownership of 1015 West University Avenue on May 27, 2015. What was once the Baptist Student Union has now become "home" for our great fraternity. AERIAL SITE PLAN I witnessed first-hand the power of a new house when we remodeled 221 South Lincoln in 1982. Within five years we were a top house on campus. We had the biggest pledge classes, we were tops in grades and athletics, and won awards in nearly every competition on campus. e house didn't cause the improvements but it certainly served as a catalyst for the members to strive for and achieve excellence. It's time once again we invest in our facility and our future at Oklahoma State. is new house will serve as the foundation that will allow Pike to cement itself as a top fraternity on campus." – Gino DeMarco '80 PKA House Monroe St University Ave.
