3 Alpha Tau Omega Chapter Recruits Largest Pledge Class in Delta Kappa History Men Take Home Fifth True Merit at ATW Congress T his past spring and summer was great for the Delta Kappa Chapter at the University of Oklahoma. This fall, we are continually looking to become an even bigger force on campus and in our surrounding community. Runner-up in President's Trophy At the end of spring semester, the university had their annual President's Trophy luncheon, where we were awarded runner-up. This is the best award a fraternity can achieve at the University of Oklahoma, so we were ecstatic when we got second place. All of our members are even more determined to win the trophy next year, and I have complete confidence that it is possible. Strong Presence among Greek Life We competed in CAC Scandals with the women of Kappa Alpha Theta this past spring and won third place. We successfully placed in all major university events in the 2014-15 school year and we hope to continue that trend this year. This fall, we are paired with the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma for CAC University Sing, and in spring 2016 we are paired with the women of Delta Delta Delta for Scandals. We hope some of you will be able to watch us perform and hopefully take home first place. We have yet to find out our pairing for Homecoming, but you can be sure after winning first place last year, we plan on continuing that success. Great Results at ATW Congress This August, Tucker Hein '14 and I attended the 150th ATW Congress in Indianapolis, Ind. This was a fantastic experience where we got to hear from many alumni and celebrate the history of ATW. During the awards banquet, the Delta Kappa Chapter received our fifth True Merit bowl since being re-chartered eight years ago. We also received excellence awards for premier recruitment, campus involvement, and scholarship. Recruitment Secures Largest Pledge Class of 69 Men During the first weekend of school, we initiated our spring pledge class of 12 men. They will be a great addition to this fraternity and they have already proven themselves to go above and beyond with some of them deciding to live in the chapter house, and thanks to generous donations and involvement from our alumni, we had a fantastic summer recruitment. Our recruitment chairmen, Jacob Frank '14 and Conner Crane '14, were able to host many summer events, including barbecues, sporting events, and concerts to recruit top recruitment prospects. I am happy to announce we were able to sign our biggest pledge class ever, with 69 new members. We are extremely happy with the quality of men we have signed, and we are looking forward to see how much they will continue to help us grow.
