Please see page 2 for a complete list of donors. Although we were unable to start the project this summer, rest assured that we are diligently working on plans. As soon as we have concrete decisions, we'll move forward with the project. But just because the back of the house didn't receive any updating doesn't mean that the House Corporation was idle during the summer. We completed the much-needed re-roofing project for the flat roof areas and put two new A/C units up on the roof. Plus, the guest bedroom and bathroom, study room, Hollywood bathroom, and back suite stairwells/landings all got major makeovers! We hope you can make it to the house sometime soon and look at the improvements in person! C ollege can be intimidating for incoming freshmen, especially when you come from a small town. It's a new place filled with people from all over the world trying to find their place; and for Debbie Dennison Daugherty '93, Alpha Chi Omega was the place for her. "When I came to UF, I was overwhelmed by the size and number of students," she says. "I joined Alpha Chi to find a somewhere to be a part of something and make the 'UF world' feel smaller." Gamma Iota was a support system for Debbie. She met so many women from different backgrounds and had fun working together with common goals and interests. Some of her favorite undergraduate memories were recruitment and initiation. "I'd love to go back and watch the 'Greece' recruitment skit," she says. Debbie's experiences as an undergraduate and in the chapter also benefited her professional career. As an undergraduate, Debbie was Panhellenic delegate, chapter president, and warden.
