Through a rigorous semester of recruitment, I believe our recruitment chairmen selected men who will become active members of the house, leaders on campus, and very successful in the world outside of Lawrence. Coming from all over the country and studying a broad spectrum of disciplines, we are glad to have a well- rounded pledge class. Nu Chapter to Initiate Four Members This Fall The 2015 executive board and I are proud to announce that four candidates will enter into our brotherhood this September. These members will be the start of the pursuit of 2,500 members for Nu Chapter. A Tradition of Academic Success Nu Chapter continued to build on our previous academic success, posting a chapter-wide 3.34 GPA for the spring semester. This GPA placed us second out of housed fraternities and third out of all fraternities. As a chapter, we exceeded the all-Greek average of 3.21, and were also well over the all-fraternity average of 3.07. The chapter had 44 members with a 3.5 GPA or higher. This is just a little shy of half the chapter. Of these 44 members, 10 earned a 4.0 GPA. Goals Moving Forward This fall, the officers have set a series of goals that will help set our chapter apart from not only other fraternities at KU, but also other Sigma Nu's nationwide. We plan to expand on our academic success and strive to improve upon our chapter-wide GPA from last semester. We have also set a goal to defend our title of having the top new member GPA on campus. In addition, we plan to extend the previous year's goal of no risk reduction violations, which we held true to in the past year. We are also trying to strengthen not only our community involvement, but also our campus involvement, adding another dimension in our pursuit to becoming the top chapter on The Hill. We have continued to expand our new website, www. KansasSigmaNu.com, so please take a few minutes to look through it. Homecoming Week Homecoming week is October 26. Nu Chapter plans to participate in all the Homecoming activities and will be partnering with Kappa Alpha Theta to build our float. We hope you all get a chance to see the result of our hard work, and will join us at the alumni event on The Hill before the KU vs. Oklahoma football game on October 31.
