Over the past several months, we have updated you on the plans for the much- needed renovation to the dining room. To reach our goal, it will take a concerted effort from every member. This is why we are asking you to consider a special undertaking—along with your pledge class, set a goal of being the "Best In Class." Two honors will awarded; one for most money raised, and a second for the highest participation percentage. If you haven't yet made a contribution to the campaign, join with your brothers! If you have donated, pick up the phone and call one of your brothers who hasn't yet given. Your phone call may be the motivation he needs to join this historic effort. 1940s Wilmer D. Name/Hometown/ Initiation Number/Grad Year/Major/Current Hometown/Employer? Name: John LeRoy Hometown: Overland Park, Kan. Initiation Number: 2209 Graduation Year: 2010 Major: Psychology Current Hometown: Overland Park, Kan. Employer: WaterOne 2. What's your life all about today? My life is all about family, friends, work, and giving back in whatever ways I can to the people and organizations that have helped me along the way. I currently live with my wife, who is a veterinarian, two cats, and we are looking to adopt a dog soon. 3. What is your favorite memory from Sigma Nu? There are so many memories that I have from Sigma Nu, including my first day as a freshman, performing in Rock Chalk Revue, attending my last chapter meeting as an undergraduate, and celebrating the national championship. However, I think my favorite memory is the celebration in 2008 when we were re-chartered. Being in the presence of all of my brothers, alumni, parents, and the regent of Sigma Nu National was such an incredible experience and was the pinnacle of years of hard work to restoring the fraternity. 4. What was the best learning experience from Sigma Nu? There are so many good learning experiences that I walked away with from my time at Sigma Nu. I held the position of lieutenant commander, and I had to learn how to hold people accountable while also maintaining good relationships with my friends. Oftentimes, this meant imposing tough love. Holding people accountable is one of the most important, transferrable lessons that one can learn, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to do that at Sigma Nu. 5. Shout-outs to… John Wessel '05, Nu 2190 was my roommate for three years and joined the Army a few years ago, where he serves the country as a tank commander. Thank you for your service, John, and I look forward to seeing you soon! I'd like to extend a special thank you to all of the alumni who have donated countless hours and dollars to the continued success of Nu Chapter. You are the heart of the fraternity that gives pulse to the active chapter.
