REDBLUFF BROOKDALEHOLDS'HYDRATE OUR HEROES' WATER DRIVE Frank Erwin, county sealer of weights and mea- sures, has had his troubles with band scales, obstrep- erous merchants and a few other things but it some- what riled him when a brilliant porker salesman informed Red Bluff mer- chants that the county sealer of weights and mea- sures had no jurisdiction regarding the wrapping of hams and bacon. Erwin has kept mer- chants informed regard- ing the various phases of the question of selling wrapped meats and charg- ing for the wrappers. Act- ing under orders from State Sealed Johnson, Er- win instructed merchants not to charge for the paper wrapping. Erwin has complete ju- risdiction in such cases and is required to bring ac- tion against any merchant violating the state regula- tions. — Sept. 15, 1915 100 YEARS AGO...
