2 THE DRAGON'S WAGON W e are deeply grateful to the 107 brothers who committed $213,121 to the Pride in Our Past, Legacy for the Future campaign. These alumni recognize the importance of ensuring the future of Gamma Psi and have demonstrated a sense of gratitude for their personal experience. Commitments are still needed from the rest of our alumni to achieve our $300,000 goal. All donors contributing a minimum of $2,500 to the campaign, over a five-year period, will be recognized on a plaque prominently displayed in the chapter house, and all donors will be recognized on printed publications of donor lists. If an error has been made in recording your gift, or your name has been mistakenly omitted or listed improperly, we sincerely apologize. "Early on I did not know what I wanted to do. I envy young people who know exactly what they want to do from the beginning. Pursue a career that you want to pursue. You are the one in control of your future, your education, and your career. If you can succeed in spending your life doing what you love to do, then you are ahead of the game," he says. Not only has Mike created a reputable name for himself in the film industry, but he also takes advantage of the opportunity to do what he loves with his career—to travel. Mike especially loves traveling to Europe, Italy, France, and England with his wife, Aase, who is a former model from Denmark, and as a raving sports fan, he enjoys attending the Wimbledon tennis matches with Alan Rickman, who is an English actor in the film industry. Despite his extensive experience with film, Mike had chosen a different path for himself early on in his college career when he received a full-ride scholarship to Michigan State University to play baseball. During his sophomore year, however, Mike suffered a serious knee injury and was unable to continue his career in baseball. When one door closes, another one opens, and for Mike, this silver lining was Beta Theta Pi. Mike created several powerful, lifelong friendships with brothers and enjoyed being part of a group of people who helped him learn important life lessons, especially in dealing with people from different backgrounds and fields of interest. "As a movie producer, you throw everyone together to create a cast, and it can be challenging to help those individuals create relationships and connections among one another. Beta Theta Pi provided me with the social skills I need to succeed in that aspect of my career." As an alumnus, Mike stays connected with Gamma Psi brothers and looks forward to the annual alumni event that is hosted every September; he highly encourages alumni to join in on the festivities to share laughs, memories, and brotherhood from their days in Beta Theta Pi. In his free time, Mike enjoys watching and playing tennis, as well as watching old foreign movies on Netflix and Apple TV. He and his wife, Aase, have a daughter, Anna.
