KanSaS BEta PAGE 3 CHAPTER SECURES FIRST PLACE IN GREEK WEEK 2015 The warm weather this spring brought numerous events in the weeks before summer. Our annual Skull and Bones date party was held in April to kick off an exciting and momentous end to the school year. Early May brought the Greek Week competition, in which all houses on campus participate. Paired with Kappa Delta and Phi Kappa Theta, the week's events included a talent show, philanthropy evening in Aggieville, photo contest, and carnival. The Chapter attacked the week head-on and took home the first- place trophy. Spring formal was held at Table Rock Lake with many brothers and their dates enjoying a weekend on the water before finals week studying began. RECRUITMENT EFFORTS ENSUE Much of the spring was spent focused on recruitment. The events included a Chapter basketball tournament, K-State basketball game, and K-State baseball game. The fall 2015 new member class includes 25 members, and the recruitment team is still looking to add more men. If you have any recruitment recommendations, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Vice President of Recruitment Matthew Martin '17 at matthewjmartin10@ksu.edu. THE POWER OF LEADERSHIP AND BROTHERHOOD As the spring semester drew to an exciting end, the Fraternity has started looking to the future for a lasting impression. Our Chapter finished with a 3.27 GPA, which placed us in the top quartile among fraternities. Although conflict arose from UNL in regard to our retreat, we are planning on rescheduling and visiting Lincoln this fall. Kansas Beta was fortunate enough to have Carson Lilley '18 and Lucas Renz '18 both selected to attend the RUCK Leadership Institute in Richmond, Virginia, this summer. Along with RUCK, Kansas Beta will be represented by four brothers at the 54th Grand Chapter Conclave in Nashville this August. The experience gained at both of these events will only help to benefit the overall direction that the Chapter is headed. Please feel free to stop by the Chapter House when you're in town. We welcome the opportunity to listen to stories from the past and share our vision for the future.
