He appreciated the challenge to build an organization with young men who shared similar values to him. Little did he know that Delta Tau Delta would shape the course of his life and become his passion. F r o m t h e b e g i n n i n g , S t e v e was dedicated to spreading the word about Delta Tau Delta. He wanted to recruit young men who shared the values and ideas of the fraternity. Over the years, he has enjoyed seeing each generation build upon the last, improving the chapter and the fraternity as a whole. Steve has always been thankful for what makes the Beta Zeta Chapter special. Steve followed his passion for the fraternity and made it into a career. Today, he serves as the Director of Development for the Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation. His position allows him to meet alumni from all over the country and learn their stories. Through this he has seen firsthand that not all fraternities are created equal and that Delta Tau Delta shines above the rest. Steve also knows how the national organization can impact the chapter. The Educational Foundation, leadership academies, alcohol education, and other opportunities influence the individual chapters and push them to the next level. Being involved in the development of young men across the nation and seeing the impact those programs can have is the most rewarding aspect of Steve's job. Steve often speaks with alumni who have lost touch with their chapters. What he sees is that when they reconnect, they realize how much they have missed the role Delta Tau Delta had played in their lives. In Steve's experience, the fraternity impacted every aspect of his life, from his friends, his son's godfather, and his values. He is proud to have been a part of building the legacy of Beta Zeta. Steve and his wife, Amy, and their son, Harrison, live in Fishers, Indiana. He encourages any alumni looking to get involved on a national level to reach out to him at (317) 284-0210 ext. 1331 or e-mail him at steve.vedra@delts.org.
