DELTA PSI NEWS 2 worked with Kappa at the province, regional, and national levels. From 2010 to 2014, Carolyn served as the chapter council adviser, which allowed her to become close with the undergraduate members, of whom she is extremely proud. "Our active members are impressive in their sisterhood, community, and campus involvement. When confronted with a challenge, they work together to solve the problem," Carolyn explains. "They have a great deal of pride in being a Kappa at Texas Tech. Everything they do builds that pride and respect." Carolyn shares her Kappa pride with her daughters, Corey Simpson Booker, Epsilon Sigma '99, and Kendall Simpson, Beta Theta '01. Carolyn will always share memories of Delta Psi bonds with her late sister, Mary Ann Byrd Bobbitt '72. Three of her nieces are Kappas as well. "I continue to learn about the good, the true, and the beautiful with each Kappa that I meet," Carolyn says. Delta Psi is grateful for Carolyn's pride and dedication and looks forward to her continued leadership within Kappa. The House Board officers of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer are elected from the seven trustees. Trustees are elected for terms of three years. Ideally, one-third of the trustees are elected each year at the annual meeting of the corporation/association. Officers serve one-year terms and should not be elected to the same office for more than three one-year terms. The ex officio members of the House Board are the chapter president, chapter treasurer, and the chapter house chairman and their three advisers – chapter council adviser, finance adviser, and house adviser. Ex officio members have a vote but do not count in the quorum. One of the seven elected trustees may be a chapter member of legal age.
