In darkened rooms, smoky concert halls or hazy laseriums, fans continue to discover the music of Pink Floyd. From the hypnotic psychedelia of Syd Barrett to the first heartbeats of Dark Side of the Moon to the dramatic fall of the Wall, Pink Floyd has continued to mesmerize audiences for more than four decades. House of Floyd, a rev- erent tribute to Pink Floyd, captures the intox- icating sights and sounds of the original for even the most discriminating fan. The band is sched- uled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at the State Theatre in Red Bluff. House of Floyd pays the highest tribute to the original by accurately recreating all of the nuanced musical com- plexity and powerful visu- al imagery of Pink Floyd. The result of this obses- sive attention to detail is a total Floyd production — music, lights, lasers and video. In addition to their musical talents, House of Floyd features a dazzling light and video show. The band travels with technical assistants who stage and operate the sound, lights, including state of the art laser show, liquid light show and video show to accent this timeless music and entertain audiences of all ages. The band features an outstanding lead guitarist and vocalist; a solid dri- ving bassist and vocalist and an outstanding drum- mer who covers all the Arts & entertainment Red Bluff artists to exhibit prior to fashion show "Winter Celebration" features an artist reception and an "End of Winter" fashion show hosted by 3 Genera- tions Arts and Shop at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at 409 Walnut St., Red Bluff. On display will be Red Bluff Art Association mem- ber Caroline Elfving's large canvases in bright colors depicting her favorite creatures. RBAA member Josifa Casey's paintings reflect her international background and her love of the garden with realistic florals. Judy Forney will join them with a body of work that displays a deep appreciation for beauty and light as she express- es the spiritual essence of things. All open seating and doors open at 6:30 p.m. CSU, Chico's Department of Music will present its spring semester fundraiser, Let's Get It On, a salute to the Motown greats from the '60s and '70s – Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, The Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye, and many others -- Friday, Feb. 10 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Harlen Adams Theatre. Let's Get It On will feature Motown's greatest hits performed by community members, students, and fac- ulty musicians. Proceeds from Let's Get It On will be used for bring- ing in guest lecturers, supporting students when they want to travel to conferences and honor festivals, and to purchase small equipment that the Music Department has a hard time getting funded.
