William C. Connors '66 entered Chapter Eternal on November 11 surrounded by his loving family. After receiving a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, he received and a master's degree in materials engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. After 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, William retired from the military as a lieutenant colonel in 1991. He retired in 1998 as a principle engineer at Sundstrand Corporation. After retirement, he traveled with his wife, visiting all 50 states and seven continents. His passions included playing guitar, running, canoeing, music, stargazing, and science. He had a lifelong thirst for knowledge and was a longtime parishioner of St. Rita Parish, Rockford. Capt. Christopher L. Norgren '07, United States Marine Corps, entered Chapter Eternal on May 12, 2015. Chris was the pilot of a military helicopter that crashed in Nepal while on a humanitarian aid mission. Five other U.S. Marines and two Nepali military service members were aboard. He graduated summa cum laude with bachelor of science degrees in aerospace engineering and applied mathematics. He was also a member of the university's football team, where he played defensive end. He was a member of the Advanced Aero Vehicle Group, a student team that designs and builds radio-controlled airplanes and rockets for competitions, and the M-SAT (Missouri satellite) team, which designs and builds miniature satellites through a project sponsored by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory. missouri gAmmA Alumni corPorAtion of sigmA Phi ePsilon P.o.
