Ruck Leadership
Institute Selects
One of Our Own

Majer '16 was selected
for the Ruck Leadership
Institute. This was an
honor for not only Nate
but also Alabama Alpha.
The participants to Ruck
were stretched both mentally and physically
during a week-long program in Richmond,
Virginia, June 17 to 21. Individuals were
selected for their leadership on campus, in
the fraternity, as well as the community.
The stated mission of Ruck is, "Teaching
the few to impact the many." Nate is a very
accomplished individual and we are very
proud of his many accomplishments. Nate
is the second individual selected for Ruck
in the last few years, as Tyler Stephens '10
was selected in 2011.

ALUMNI UPDATE
CHAPTER ETERNAL
Clyde V. Orr Jr. '47 entered Chapter Eternal on February 20 at the age of 92. While
at Auburn, he served as SigEp's Chapter president and was a member of spades honor
society, comprised of the 10 most influential seniors, the highest honor an Auburn man
can receive. After college, Clyde served as the squadron navigator aboard a B-17 bomber
during World War II. The squadron was part of the 8th Air Force, 94th bomb group, and
he flew 30 combat missions over Germany. Clyde is survived by his wife, Shirley, sons,
Clyde III and Steven, daughters, Bettye Ann and Sue, seven grandchildren, and two great
grandchildren.
