2 The WISE OLD OWL John Adam Britt '03 Reflects on Giving Back to Epsilon Kappa H ardly a day goes by that Adam Britt '03 has not been reminded of his Sigma Chi experience. Sigma Chi plays a central role in his memories of college and has helped him become the man he is today. Adam wants others to share in the experience of Sigma Chi, and that is why he is giving back. His experiences with the fraternity began his freshman year. He was introduced to many fraternity men, Sigma Chis and others, but always found himself coming back to Sigma Chi. "Each time I seemed to migrate back to Sigma Chi because I just felt more a part of something." The fraternity as a whole was diverse and shared a deeper bond than he saw anywhere else. That bond became a huge part of his undergraduate experience, growing more important and meaningful as the years went on. The bond of Sigma Chi is what called him back to give his time and his money. "Giving back to Epsilon Kappa has been something I've wanted to do for a long time. The times that I spent there as an undergraduate, and especially living in the house, are still some of the best memories I have during college, and I want to help continue that experience for many Sigs to come." Adam also devotes his time to Sigma Chi through the alumni advisory board as advisor for the office of Magister. He's been back to the Chapter House several times since graduating and has been impressed with the Chapter's accomplishments. Being involved with the undergraduate Chapter has also allowed Adam to remain in touch with many of his Sigma Chi brothers. There are several that he talks to on a daily or weekly basis, and many others that he sees every couple of months. He encourages all alumni to reconnect with Epsilon Kappa and their Sigma Chi brothers. "Now is a great time to reconnect with the Chapter and remind yourself of what drew you to Sigma Chi in the first place. Your Sigma Chi brothers went through one of the best experiences of your life with you and share the deepest of bonds. Even if you haven't seen or spoken to them in some time, all it takes is reaching out to catch up and those bonds will instantly reignite." Adam is an account executive sales representative with ZOLL Medical Corporation, a position that his connections to Sigma Chi and the values he cultivated there helped him achieve. He and his wife, Kimberly, live in Memphis and have two-and-a- half-year-old twins, John Ellis and Laurel Ann. Adam enjoys golfing and going to the lake with Kimberly as much as they can.
