Honoring the Past, Building the Future Campaign Enters Home Stretch Your Support Is Needed to Reach $1.5 Million Goal T he home stretch—that is what it feels like we are in. Almost seven years ago, we agreed to head up the fundraising committee for the new Lodge project. With an original goal of $1.25 million and a smaller- than-usual alumni base, we knew our challenge was considerable. With the help of a dedicated group of alumni, we met our original target. As we neared this goal, the decision was made to improve on the plans for the Lodge and add much-needed space. This was directly based on the rapid growth of our initiated undergraduates, which has far exceeded our expectations! A new goal was set at $1.5 million. Today, with the contributions from alumni, current actives, little sisters, and generous parents, we have reached a total of $1,382,951 in written pledges. The final stages—confirming the extension of our land lease, gaining approval of our revised plans by the University, and securing the bank loan—are now in motion. We have also set a goal of breaking ground this fall, with the Lodge to be ready for the 2016 school year. To date, we have 102 contributors to our campaign and a participation rate of 25%. For all of us, our years as a Chi Psi at Ole Miss are special in many ways. Let's contribute to the future memories of our Brothers in our new Lodge. To reach our updated goal, we need all alumni who have not pledged to consider joining the current contributors. Any pledge is greatly appreciated. The active men of Chi Psi have done an outstanding job of recruiting and initiating a fine group of young men that represent Chi Psi at the highest level. Following our annual corporation meeting April 25, we hosted a "Coming Home" celebration (above) and placed new signage on our property to affirm our commitment in returning to Ole Miss NOW! We have a great group of dedicated alumni who have worked very hard to make this possible, but we need everyone to join us in making this a bonding Chi Psi experience for a lifetime.
